1. Our Approach to Privacy

iSummarize AI is designed to help you analyze documents, video, and audio files. We keep your data secure, processing only what is necessary to run the tool. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information We Collect

Here is what we store when you use our services:

Account Information

When you create an account, we store your email address and a secure password hash. We use Supabase Auth to manage login credentials. We do not collect billing addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifiers.

Chat and Session History

For registered users, we save your chat history and lists of active session files so you can access your dashboard and resume past conversations. This history is stored securely in our database and is only visible to you.

Usage and Logs

We keep track of daily file uploads and chat query counts to manage our plan limits. We also log standard authentication activity to secure your account.

What We Do Not Collect

• Your browsing history on other websites
• Your geographic location details
• Continuous microphone or camera feeds
• Biometric data or customer voice files (voice characteristics)

3. AI Data Processing and Training Protections

Secure Transmission and Temporary Storage

When you upload files (including PDFs, Word documents, text files, videos, or audio tracks), they are securely transmitted to our backend. We use these files to generate temporary embeddings for active sessions, which enables features like cross-document comparison.

All uploaded files and temporary representations are automatically erased upon session termination to maintain strict data privacy. We do not retain copies of your documents or media files after your chat session is closed.

Strict No-Model-Training Guarantee

We enforce a strict policy regarding your data. iSummarize does NOT use customer voice data, document texts, upload histories, or conversation transcripts to train, test, or refine any external Large Language Models (LLMs) or third-party artificial intelligence engines. Your private content is strictly used for real-time analysis during your active session.

4. Cookies, Web Beacons, and Google AdSense

We use secure, essential session tokens and cookies to verify your identity and keep you logged into the application. These tokens expire when you log out or close your browser session.

Google AdSense Disclosures

We show sponsored ad banners inside the workspace for our Free tier. To serve these advertisements, we integrate third-party vendors, including Google.

• Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site.
• Google's use of the DoubleClick DART cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to isummarize.io and other sites on the Internet.
• Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google Ad and Content Network privacy policy at the following URL: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
• Third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to send the advertisements and links that appear on isummarize.io directly to your browsers. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. Other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons) may also be used by the third-party ad networks to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see.
• iSummarize has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.

5. CCPA Privacy Rights (California Consumer Privacy Act)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information. These include:

• Right to Know: The right to request that we disclose what personal data we collect, use, disclose, and sell about you.
• Right to Delete: The right to request the deletion of personal data collected or maintained by us. You can delete your account and history directly in your settings dashboard.
• Right to Opt-Out: The right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal data. We do not sell or share personal user data or document files. Since third-party advertising cookies are used, you can manage your preferences or opt out of personalized ads via Google's Ad settings.
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

6. COPPA Compliance (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act)

Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important to us. Under the guidelines of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), isummarize.io does not knowingly collect, store, or process any personal information from children under the age of 13.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that your child under 13 has registered for an account or uploaded personal data to our servers, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. Upon receiving verified parental notification, we will immediately delete all associated account information, history, and files from our databases.

7. Secure Checkout and Payments

For our Pro Plan, we process transactions using a secure, PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway (Stripe). We never store or view your credit card details on our servers. All transaction details are processed directly by our billing partner.

8. Your Data Portability and Deletion

You can download a copy of your chat history at any time using our "Copy Chat" function. If you want to delete your account, you can do so in your settings dashboard. Once deleted, all associated account information, history, and records are permanently erased from our databases.
